DC Safety Coordinator- Waverly

The primary role of the Safety Coordinator is to perform the functions of safety coordination for associates and drivers at Rural King. 

• Work with HR to manage all areas of driver safety for RKT Fleet to include but not limited to:
  • DQ Files for drivers and DOT required files and forms.
  • Safety and Accident files and procedures
  • Help maintain safety program for the fleet
  • Maintain People Net standards and tracking program
  • Work closely with dispatch on driver accountability for safety
  • DOT Inspections
• Maintain all licensing, permits, and registrations for RKT Fleet
• Maintain HOS and Logbooks
• Manage insurance claims and outside carrier accidents
• Review and manage all workers compensation claims
• OSHA reporting and compliance
• Partner with HR on safety improvements and initiatives
• Develop safety handbook and safety training
• Maintain 2290 taxes
• Manage and maintain all safety reports
• Conduct investigations and review all accidents and injuries
• Communicate professionally with all Rural King personnel
• Use general office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, computer.
• May be required to cross train and perform other duties

• • 2 years in warehouse and/or trucking safety
  • Current knowledge of DOT regulations
  • Competent knowledge of computer fundamentals including all HR computer software programs, MS Word and Excel
  • Must be organized
  • Ability to interact with the team in a fast-paced environment, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient
  • Ability to multi-task, coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner
  • Ability to work independently without supervision
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to participate in our online applicant and new hire onboarding process remotely
  • Ability to complete computer-based training
