Position Details
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Performs nutrition assessments in the time frame consistent with the N.J. State Health Code and/or policy and procedure for designated subunits, and triages clients into appropriate level of care to determine time frame for follow-up intervention and intensity of nutritional care required.
- Documents all nutritional care provided to clients in the medical chart using the S.O.A.P (subject, objective, assessment, and plan) format or as outlined in the policy and procedure for designated subunits.
- Evaluates and monitors client’s progress consistent with policy and procedure, and implements appropriate nutritional care collaboratively with primary care physician or designate.
- Attends and actively participates in interdisciplinary conferences and discharge planning.
- Demonstrates clinical competency in all areas of clinical nutrition by maintaining 15 CEU’s (Continuing Education Unit) per year, participation in peer review and cross training educational activities.
- Develops and implements clinical research projects collaboratively with clinical nutrition staff, ADCN and/or medical/nursing staff.

- Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition or a related field.
- Registration by the American Dietetic Association, or eligibility to write and pass the registration exam within six (6) months from date of hire.
- Two (2) years of working with bariatric patients
- Position requires lifting 1/3 of the time up to 25 pounds. Position has no special vision requirements.
- This is a Part-Time position at 24 hours 3 days a week.
