RV Technician Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- RV Technicians have to examine, troubleshoot, and diagnose units that need repair and maintenance performed.
- Install, repair and maintain interior and exterior components on motor homes, travel trailers, fifth wheel trailers, truck campers, tent trailers and van conversions. Many technicians are also required to perform various installation and maintenance on automobiles as well.
- Duties may include but are not limited to, installation of accessories, performing pre-delivery inspections, reading and writing of repair orders, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance on propane gas and electric appliances such as furnaces, refrigerators, water heaters, ranges and air conditioners: repairs to fiberglass, body and structural components and the ability to install, repair, replace and maintain roofs, siding, windows, doors, vent, awnings, floor coverings, cabinets and electrical systems.
- Although all RV technicians may not repair engine and drivetrain components on motorized vehicles, some of our positions require these qualifications. Each applicant will be considered on his or her qualifications vs. the job applied for.
- Technicians will be required to install trailer and fifth wheel hitches, wire tow vehicles and perform routine maintenance and or repairs on the trailer frames, undercarriage and suspensions.
- Use of testing equipment, troubleshooting techniques, and the ability to repair to manufacturers’ specifications
- Use of manuals catalogues and internet search as needed to perform proper diagnostics
- Use of electronic instruments to perform diagnostics
- All other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED equivalent - REQUIRED
