Your responsibilities
RWE Supply & Trading Americas are seeking a talented Human Resources Advisor (HRA) to provide operational advice and guidance to managers and employees, on all aspects of HR across the whole employee life cycle. The HRA will work closely with the UK based HR Business Partner & Head of HR responsible for the respective business areas, as well as HR Advisors in the UK and across RWE Supply & Trading GmbH’s (RWEST) global HR team.
This is a new position, and an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to shape the role and provide a local US HR presence to the RWE Supply & Trading Americas, LLC (RWESTA) and RWE Trading Americas Inc. (RWETA) teams.
- Manage the joiner, mover, leaver and on-boarding processes for employees within RWESTA and RWETA, including the early career programme’s within RWE.
- Ensure all payroll changes are submitted to our 3rd party payroll provider, accurately and on time, for the bi-monthly and monthly US payrolls.
- Provide timely support and advice to employees and managers on a range of topics including; remuneration, employment benefits, absences, contractual changes, and produce all relevant follow up contractual documentation.
- Accurately maintain the employee data within internal and external HR systems, including SAP KP3 and our 3rd party payroll providers portal, to support precise budget and forecast reporting.
- Provide guidance and support on employee performance/conduct cases, managing them to an appropriate outcome based on internal policy and relevant legislation.
- Maintain employment records accurately, ensuring they are kept up to date in line with relevant Data Protection guidelines, including relevant right to work (I-9) checks for all new hires.
- Provide HR support and guidance on business driven project activities such as the annual bonus and salary review process, department restructures/reorganisations and intercompany transfers.
- Ensure the Employee Handbook and applicable employment policies are maintained in line with relevant US and state specific legislation.
- Support and/or take ownership as appropriate, on local and global HR continuous improvement projects.
- Manage adherence to all relevant HR related policies
- Occasional travel to other RWE locations in Europe will be required.
Your profile
- Experience in a US based HR role.
- Understanding of US employment legislation, across the different states with the ability to apply this in practice.
- Experience of managing payrolls with an external 3rd party payroll provider and internal HR systems.
- Able to build a credible reputation within a global business, develop professional relationships both within the business and externally.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Able to work autonomously and remotely in a fast paced HR environment, with the ability to prioritise and organise your work effectively with minimum supervision. Innovative, with the ability to proactively identify workable, practical HR solutions for employees and the business.
- Highly motivated, strong team player, flexible in your approach to work, with the ability to adapt and deliver to challenging and fluctuating deadlines.
- Experience of working in a matrix management structure with your team located outside of the US
Advantageous, but not a must
- Experience in a HR role within an international business, across global locations.
- Knowledge of SAP KP3 systems.
