Software Engineer (NodeJS+PHP)

Job Purpose

About The Role:

RWS are looking to hire an experienced and talented Developer. You will work as part of a distributed agile team leading the development of one of RWS’s internal systems, which is integral to the operation of one of RWS divisions. As a system that is constantly evolving you will be a key member of its functional enhancement and its technical evolution. You will work closely with the systems Product Manager and Lead Developer to ensure features developed meet business stakeholder’s expectations in an ever changing industry. You will also work closely with other RWS technology teams to develop and enhance integration with other key RWS systems both internally developed and commercial products.

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:

• Developing and maintaining RWS applications
• Product oriented thinking; reworking and keeping up with current standards
• Driving technical design, code professionalism and innovation
• Reporting progress and identifying, escalating, and removing obstacles that might endanger the agreed release date.
• Reviewing peer deliverables
• Active team participation including attending daily stand-up meetings.
• Assisting functional and technical testers

Skills and Experience:

• 3 years of experience and a track record of being a difference maker.
• Experience building applications with NodeJS and PHP both. 
• Strong Typescript and JavaScript skills
• Good MySQL skills or similar SQL experience 
• Understand concept of code testing. Understand what should be tested, what should not. How to write code that can be unit tested.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written 
• Pragmatic, get things done attitude with excellent organizational skills.
