Job Summary:
The Paralegal position provides timely and effective legal support to our attorneys, internal clients, and other members of the Labor & Employment team in the Law Department , in managing requests for guidance from HR professionals, handling subpoenas and other requests for employment records, analyzing data for severance purposes, monitoring electronic inboxes for inquiries and new matters, opening and maintaining case files in case management database, creating detailed reports to be included in board reports and/or shared with top level executives, and supporting outside counsel representing Ryder in courts and administrative agencies. We are seeking applicants who can collaborate effectively across departments and can anticipate and initiate routine legal tasks independently and as requested by Ryder attorneys and outside counsel.

Essential Functions:
- Gathers, organizes and analyzes documents and information related to disputes, claims and single/class action matters, particularly with respect to discovery requests
- Manage and assist with requests from other departments
- Open new matters, maintain case files, and create reports in various databases
- Monitor incoming mail/electronic inboxes for inquires and new matters
- Organizes and maintains standard forms and processes

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, required
- Four (4) years or more, Relevant work experience working in a legal environment (law firm or in-house), required
Applicants from California, Colorado, New York, New Jersey and Washington:
The hourly rate for this position ranges from $30 to $35 an hour.
Employees may also be eligible for Overtime.
