SUMMARY The Manager of DevOps will be responsible for building, implementing and operationalizing DevOps practices, processes and tool chain across the whole organization. Lead a team and collaborate with other IT and business teams to grow and evolve DevOps practices at Ryder. Lead the organization in assessing the DevOps readiness of the teams across the organization and assist in implementing specific activates to improve DevOps maturity. As the DevOps practice continues to grow the team will lead the organization in evolving the technology stack as well as the practices and standards. Lead the efforts to educate, socialize, promote, and communicate DevOps across the organization. Work side by side with the enterprise agile delivery team to scale DevOps practice across the organization. Influence and support the organizations DevOps strategy and roadmap. Lead the efforts on leveraging Cloud computing and services to automate the process of building, managing and provisioning through code. Work with operations team to scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Lead DevOps initiatives and grow the DevOps culture across the organization Lead the efforts on identifying, implementing and establishing DevOps technology stack and toolchain Coach and mentor teams on DevOps practices and toolchain. Consistently communicate the value of DevOps across the organization Provide services and technical oversight on CI/CD & DevOps related practices Research and explore tools and practices to scale DevOps practice in the organization Manages and reports on the location code (ASL) actual vs the budget, cost reduction etc. Plans, Designs, Coordinates, and Directs Requests for Capital Expenditures (RCEs) Collaborate on DevOps strategy and roadmaps ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES PoC & Pilot CI/CD & DevOps related tools Collaborating with DevOps vendors/providers to bring educational sessions and conduct workshops Continuously integrate feedback into DevOps practice Performs other duties as assigned EDUCATION Bachelor's degree Business, Engineering, Technology or a relevant degree. Master's degree Business, Engineering, Technology or a relevant degree preferred. EXPERIENCE Ten (10) years or more experience Hands on experience building, implementing and operating technology solutions Five (5) years or more experience Management and leadership experience Three (3) years or more experience architecting, developing and deploying distributed and mission critical services to Hybrid environments Two (2) years or more experience Direct Agile & DevOps experience SKILLS . experience with Source Control, code repository tools . experience with Azure & AWS Cloud Services & subscription management . experience with IaaS & CaaS . experience with Monitoring & Log aggregation tools and frameworks . experience with SQL & NoSQL databases . experience with integration and API . Excellent interpersonal, listening, and influencing skills with ability to effectively work at all levels of the organization; strong verbal/communication skills and presentation abilities . Excellent facilitating talent and able to drive consensus involving technical and non-technical resources at varied levels experience and management . KNOWLEDGE Knowledge of automated provisioning tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible ; intermediate level. Knowledge of Azure & AWS Cloud computing platforms; intermediate level. Knowledge of Visual Studio & Git; intermediate level. Knowledge of Elk/Splunk ; intermediate level; preferred. LICENSES TRAVEL 20-30% Applicants from Colorado & Connecticut: Salary is determined based on internal equity; internal salary ranges; market data/ranges; applicant’s skills; prior relevant experience; certain degrees or certifications, etc. The salary for this position ranges from 79,300.00 to $120,000. Salaries may be supplemented with a bonus as applicable and/or as business conditions allow.
