Summary
The Beverage Director is responsible for enhancing, innovating, and driving a progressive food service culture at SAS. They propel food service beverage as a major growth strategy for both SAS and our retailers. The Director is expected to identify consumer beverage trends, review customer feedback and competitive insights, and establish innovative concepts in the food service beverage category.
Essential Functions
- Define overall food service beverage strategy and vision.
- Create a comprehensive multiyear plan to achieve the vision.
- Meet regularly with marketing and sales staff as well as ownership of SAS chain retailers to enhance knowledge of market conditions, retailer, and consumer needs.
- Act as a beverage program subject matter expert.
- Foster food service competency across all levels of the organization relating to the category.
- Provide fresh ideas and promotions to improve market share within stores.
- Work with food service peers within the organization to develop and execute sales training of all beverage programs.
- Provide the sales team with the tools, marketing and support needed to sell convenience beverage programs.
- Assist in special event coordination (SAS annual trade show, marketing incentive program, SBX, Fall & Winter, etc.)
- Participate in regular sales meetings.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This would require the ability to lift cases and equipment. The ability to assist in equipment install and demonstrate equipment function.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Positions are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. Hours listed are general hours and may be altered as needed. Additional hours may be required to fulfill job duties and position expectations.
Travel
30% travel minimum is expected with this position.
Required Education and Experience
- Must have the verbal, quantitative, and interpersonal skills normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's Degree;
- Ten years or more experience in food service within the wholesale/retail business; or
- · Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in culinary arts and menu development preferred.
- Supply chain management experience preferred.
Licensing and Certification
- Serve Safe Certification or the ability to obtain one preferred.
