As individuals we are great, and together we are even better so come help us make a difference as we are currently seeking a full-time Certified Welding Inspector to join our Metals team in Charlotte, North Carolina.
This position involves visual inspection of structural steel, including bolted and welded connections, field inspection and performing non-destructive testing. Other responsibilities include coordinating testing assignments on various projects, maintaining testing equipment, report preparation and field work including safely climbing steel structures like buildings, cell phone towers and water tanks to heights in excess of 200 feet.
Position will require 50 hour work weeks (during periods of peak workload), as well as off-shift and weekend work, as required.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Minimum of 3 years metals testing experience or an associate degree
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
- Level II for UT certification
- Achieved ASNT Level II certification per ASNT-SNT-TC-1A in at least one method
- You are open and willing to travel for this job. This position will require travel, and expenses are paid by the company
- Ability to climb heights in excess of 200 feet
- Safety, DDC, NDT, and Radiation Training
- Experience in the use of fall protection equipment and personal fall arrest systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Vocational training in non-destructive metals testing services
- Experience with AutoCAD
- ICC certification in Building Inspections and/or Structural Steel Inspection
- Level II for PT, MT certifications
