We recruit top talent and are currently seeking a full-time Exploration Services Area Manager. The position includes leadership and direct management of Exploration employees within the Geotechnical Services Business Unit. Responsibilities include yearly business planning; business development; quality; resource management; safety; human resources; risk management; and working with the Business Unit Director to develop and implement a strategic plan for the Area, and a vision for the Business Unit.


Typical responsibilities include:

  • Adherence to S&ME Health and Safety protocol for all Exploration employees;
  • Verification of safety training for all Exploration employees;
  • Preparing a business plan (annually) that focuses on growth and profitability;
  • Maintaining ultimate P&L responsibility of the Area, including revenue, profit, labor, non-labor, utilization, and DSO;
  • Serving as the direct manager of Exploration employees, or as mentor to Group Leaders, within the Area;
  • Review and approve non-standard contracts within the Area/Business Unit and seek assistance from Business Unit Director when necessary;
  • Collaboration with other Area Managers or Business Units to pursue projects for S&ME and to provide for effective utilization of personnel;
  • Development and maintenance of strategic staff that will provide solid working relationships and provide key business opportunities with clients;
  • Assurance that Area complies with company-wide programs, processes, and policies;
  • Travel, as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in associated field of study;
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in a related field of practice or 8 years' experience plus a master's degree in a related field, including 5 years' experience in a supervisory or management capacity;
  • Experience managing medium to large exploration projects, including supervision of on-site staff and interaction with client and contractor personnel;
  • Familiarity with BST preferred, but not required;
  • Familiarity with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams preferred;
  • Senior Reviewer preferred, but not required;
  • Must be current in all required training.

This is a full-time position with competitive pay based on experience. Successful candidate must meet requirements of the company's Fleet Management Program, Substance Policy and Reference check program.
