Farmville Health and Rehabilitation Center is located in the heart of Virginia. If you’re into the outdoors, you’re in the right place! Farmville is surrounded by rivers and streams and two of Virginia’s finest bass fishing lakes – Briery Creek Lake and Sandy River Reservoir – making it a fisherman’s paradise. With five state parks, four wildlife management areas, and three state forests within a short drive, it’s a great place to experience the great outdoors. Plus, less than 3 hours to the beach!
Qualification/Responsibilities:
- Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment
- Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years of recent experience in a supervisory role in a nursing care facility
- Must be able to cope with the mental, emotional, and physical stress of the position.
- Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility.
- Assists with recruitment, hiring, orientation, and retention of all nursing staff (including STNAs). Ensures the maintenance of a master schedule, daily work assignments are in place and appropriate staffing levels are maintained.
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, manage, and direct the nursing department, as well as its programs and activities in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the nursing care facilities.
- Supervises, disciplines, terminates (when necessary) evaluates, and ensures competency of nursing staff to ensure the highest degree of quality of care is maintained at all times. Ensures staff completes required education.
- Organize, develop, and direct the overall operations of the Nursing Service Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the facility
- Work directly with the Administrator and the Medical Director to ensure the highest degree of quality of care is maintained for each resident at all times.
- Monitor care to ensure all residents are treated with dignity and respect and in compliance with resident rights, including maintenance of patient health information as required by law. Troubleshoot resident concerns/grievances and conduct investigations, as necessary.
- Ensures the facility is survey-ready at all times, actively participates in surveys, maintains compliance with federal and state regulations, and participates in content and review of facility assessment in conjunction with Administrator.
Shift & Wage:
This is a full-time opportunity. The Director of Nursing should be at the facility during the week, 8:00am-5:00pm. As we are a 24-hour center, the DON will be on-call as needed. The salary starts at $100,000 but will depend on experience.
