Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team. As a Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and cooking of meals in our establishment. If you have a passion for culinary arts and enjoy creating delicious dishes, we would love to hear from you. The chef must be an expert in Carribbean/Jamician/West Indian dishes.
Duties:
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and standards
- Plan menus and ensure variety and quality of food offerings
- Monitor food production to ensure consistency and efficiency
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
- Train and supervise kitchen staff in proper food handling and preparation techniques
- Maintain inventory control to minimize waste and ensure freshness of ingredients
- Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen
- Collaborate with bartending staff to create food and beverage pairings
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Chef or similar role in the food industry
- Extensive knowledge of culinary arts, techniques, and best practices
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate kitchen staff
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
