General Description/Purpose

Works the counter at a cannabis dispensary assisting patients/customers with selections, and offering advice and recommendations based on personal knowledge and current trends. Assists with other daily activities and tasks as needed.

Tasks and Nature of Work

  • Listen to and assess patients’ conditions to recommend appropriate products, with the objective of addressing their questions and concerns.
  • Ensure a complete and accurate transaction, while enhancing the customers’ experience.
  • Weigh out products accurately and affix proper labelling to product containers.
  • Research and stay current on different products, strains, and other resale items to keep abreast of trends and customer base needs.
  • Using the computer system to fill inventory and supplies for dispensary.
  • Accurately count and close register till.
  • Keep dispensary clean and presentable
  • Cover the front desk on rotating schedule, and as needed, admitting patients and handling incoming phone calls, and basic office duties.
  • Assists with inventory of products and supplies.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Recommended Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED and one year of experience in a cannabis dispensary is preferred.

Knowledge

  • General knowledge of basic arithmetic, conversion of metric to standard measurements;
  • General knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and managing files and records.
  • Basic Knowledge of computers such as cash registers, point of sale transactions and word processing.
  • Basic use and knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar and punctuation.

Conditions of Employment:

Must be able to pass both national and state background checks;

  • Must be able to pass HIPAA Exam;
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.;
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must attend sexual harassment training;
  • Must obtain or have a current Food Handler Training Cerificate
