Housing Advocate (Full-Time 37.5 hours/week, non-exempt), $25.00 - $31.00/per hour

We strive to engage our community through awareness, advocacy, and prevention. We are seeking a committed and compassionate Housing Advocate to join our team and play a crucial role in securing safe and stable housing and providing support resources, and guidance to empower survivors in their journey toward independence.
The Housing Advocate works directly with clients who are in a state of housing instability as a result of their victimization. Safe Monroe housing program aims to empower program participants to achieve their self-defined goals that will support their ability to obtain and maintain safe and permanent housing. These include but are not limited to safety planning, an improved sense of self-worth, self-sufficiency, and permanent housing in a safe, stable environment. The Housing Advocate is required to meet regularly with the program participants to monitor, advocate, and intervene in the formalized plan. They must be able to work a flexible schedule and be flexible to the changing needs of the organization and clients. The Housing Advocate works collaboratively with all Safe Monroe’s staff and must be able to contribute and work well in group settings. This position is full-time with primarily daytime and early evening hours. They are responsible for database entries, Rapid Rehousing Database, quality control, and statistical reports as needed for funders and agency needs.
Bachelor’s degree required, master's preferred, in human services, with at least 2 years’ experience in direct service provision, program administration, data management, and analysis, relevant work experiences respected. Must complete 70-hour Counselor/advocate required training.
