The Manager Digital Engineering at Safelite leads agile technology teams, and is focused on building and operating digital experiences (websites and/or mobile apps) for Safelite clients and consumers. The Software Engineering Manager is a people-first leader and will lead teams responsible for application development, with direct reports that includes Software Engineers, Scrum Masters, and System Analysts. They are responsible for growing associates in all aspects of the development lifecycle, and have strong technical background to adopt new technologies, establish and enhance development practice to deliver the highest degree of software quality while accelerating speed to market. Manager Digital Engineering has knowledge in leading agile practices, continuous development methodologies, driving automated test-driven development, and has a working knowledge of integration and architecture solutions. They also work with IT Senior Management to develop product or department direction and vision that ensures alignment with business strategy. What you'll do: People leadership, associate engagement, associate development planning, interviewing and hiring, performance management, and feedback Work with IT Senior Management to develop product, department direction and vision that ensures alignment with business strategy Department tasks including design, development, validation, and/or configuration of IT systems that meet technical specifications and end-user requirements Deliver compelling presentations, architectural blueprint documents, and requirements-gathering workshops to influence the strategic direction of our projects and lead teams through solution designs Train, coach, and mentor team members on hard technical skills and soft skills Act as the product/domain area subject matter expert Determines resource needs based on team workload and project requirements What you'll need: 7-10 years of experience Undergraduate degree for Software Engineering or equivalent experience Experience building and operating applications using Agile/Scrum methodology Experience building and operating applications using modern technologies like microservices and cloud-based platforms Experience with management and supervisory practices; managing others and applying management principles to practical work situations Experience with managing others managing projects and programs Coordination of methods within broad framework of general policy or supervisor’s expectations What you'll get: Competitive weekly pay and bonus opportunities.
