Description

This job involves working on and assisting in the co-ordination of the day-to-day activities of the finance team across all offshore jurisdictions and to provide an efficient service to the wider offshore Firm. You will contribute to a culture which fosters engaged and positive people by ensuring the team works in an effective and well-motivated manner, maintaining a good level of team spirit and staff morale.

You will display excellent communication with directors, team members, other colleagues and professionals at all times.

In partnership with the Finance Manager, People and Culture and Learning and Development, you will competently assist in managing junior staff performance through the performance and development process, set clear aims and objectives, coach and monitor their progress on a regular basis to ensure that junior team members develop to the required standard set out in the competency framework and financial and chargeable time budgets are adhered to.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with the co-ordination and preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting packs for each offshore jurisdictions.
  • Assist with the co-ordination and preparation of the Firm's annual budget across the offshore jurisdictions.
  • Co-ordinate the preparation of annual financial statements and liaise with the Auditor across the offshore jurisdictions.
  • Ensure that all office and Finance team procedures are adhered to.
  • Prioritise, schedule work and allocate responsibilities and tasks to junior resources, as appropriate.
  • Assist the Finance Manager to supervise the day-to-day finance functions of the Firm, including timesheet submissions, payments, bookkeeping, ad-hoc financial information requests, etc…, across multiple offshore jurisdictions.
  • Identify and implement work review processes and procedures where deficiencies have been identified.
  • Assist with recommendations for the enhancement and development of the IT software (finance related), to improve the quality and efficiency of financial information provided to the Directors.
  • Assist the Finance Manager to plan resources, schedule work, monitor progress against schedules, anticipating and avoiding potential incidents.
  • Ensure that your technical knowledge is kept up to date and attend any relevant courses.
  • To provide practical on the job training to junior members of the team.
  • To assist in managing staff performance in alignment with the PAD process, set clear aims and objectives.
  • Coach and monitor progress of junior staff on a regular basis providing the team members with constructive feedback that supports individuals' development needs and ensure that team members develop to the required standard set out in the competency framework.
  • To assist the Finance Manager in confronting underperformance by providing effective constructive feedback on team members.
  • To assist the Finance Manager in holding regular team meetings.
  • Encourage others to identify and evaluate alternative ways of developing new solutions to problems.
  • To promote a culture that encourages honesty, open discussion and information sharing at all levels.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information and any other information of a managerial nature.
  • Assist in any other relevant duties as requested by the Finance Manager and the directors.

Profile Required

  • Dedicated and highly professional approach with total commitment to best practice with a pro-active approach.

  • Ability to work in a timely manner and to meet deadlines when under pressure.

Skills And Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience in a mid-level finance role.
  • ACA/ACCA qualification or equivalent or relevant number of years' experience in a mid-level finance role.
  • A finance professional with a proven track record of delivering service excellence to high quality standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to develop effective relationships at all levels.
  • Effective organisational and planning skills.
  • Effective performance management skills, including coaching, mentoring and giving and receiving feedback.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in all relevant IT programmes.
