What are the responsibilities and job description for the Test Automation Team Manager (f/m/d) position at Safran Passenger Innovations?
As the Test Automation Team Manager at Safran, you'll lead our mission to automate the verification and validation of software modules and systems. You'll be the orchestrator of innovation, managing the day-to-day operations of our test automation team. From high-level planning to hands-on engineering tasks, you'll be at the forefront of cutting-edge avionics connectivity technology. The Manager is also interfacing & managing communication between this team and other departments as well as with SPI’s customers, suppliers and contractors.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire the test automation team through coaching and mentorship, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration
- Collaborate with project managers and the management team to plan high-level tasks and resource allocation
- Be involved in daily hands-on engineering tasks in the area of test automation
- Act as a trusted consultant for other projects and departments, sharing your expertise in test automation methodologies and processes
- Plan and conduct test automation tasks, such as defining tool environment and managing test cases
- Plan the necessary test rack and lab equipment to conduct automated system testing
- Support official documentation including DO-178C artefacts in collaboration with project management and other teams
- Interface with suppliers and external parties including customers
- Advocate for annual budget needs and oversee the acquisition of hardware and tools essential for the test automation team's success
- Participate to the hiring process of test automation engineers
- Conduct feedback meetings and annual reviews
- Identify, plan and request department and individual training needs
- Uphold occupational health and safety standards, prioritizing the well-being of our team members
