Job description
This individual works closely with the Director of Certification, the Customer, Engineering department, Program Management and Quality Assurance to ensure that the design packages meet the requirements of the FAA and EASA (as applicable).
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Certification Manager include but are not limited to the following:
- Indirectly responsible for implementation and maintenance of certification department procedures and work instructions
- Directly responsible for generation and accuracy of all project specific certification documentation that is assigned
- Reports on the performance of the certification activities for projects, to insure conformity inspections and documentation are planned for and accomplished, and that all project conformity records have been submitted for review and approval.
- Directly responsible for tracking and adherence to the certification schedule for assigned project.
- Support project meetings and telecons as required
- Provides input on project budgets for projects
- Coordinates with the Director of Certification and FAA designees (FAA Projects)
- Coordinates with Office of Airworthiness and EASA designees (EASA Projects)
- Actively work with the quality assurance disciplines to insure conformity inspections and documentation are planned for and accomplished, and that all project conformity records have been submitted for review and approval.
- Understand and promote all health, safety and environmental legal and regulatory requirements including company policies and standards. Lead by example, enforce and sustain a strong minded safety culture and compliance driven practices in the work environment.
- A four year technical degree or a minimum of 6 years of industry experience in aircraft certification - – or other combination of education and experience acceptable to the Director of Certification
- Strong knowledge of FAA and/or EASA Certification Procedures, FAR and/or EASA Certification Standards and commercial aviation certification process.
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Strong verbal, technical writing, and written communication skills for internal company, customer, and authority interactions. Hardworking, dependable, organized, and self-disciplined.

- Consistent use of computer key board and monitor
- Occasional travel may be required.
Physical Requirements:
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
