The Safety Coordinator will oversee all aspects of safety compliance, training, incident response, and continuous initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs and policies for manufacturing operations in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Conduct regular inspections and audits of manufacturing areas to identify safety hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to address safety concerns related to machinery, equipment, and work processes.
Lead safety training sessions for manufacturing employees on topics such as hazard recognition, safe work practices, and emergency procedures.
Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and accidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Maintain accurate safety records and documentation, including incident reports, safety training records, and safety meeting minutes.
Work closely with the Safety Committee and management to drive safety initiatives, engage employees, and promote a positive safety culture.
Keep abreast of changes in safety regulations and industry trends, and ensure compliance with OSHA standards and other applicable regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in safety coordination or management within a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, machine guarding principles, and industrial safety practices.
Experience conducting safety audits, hazard assessments, and incident investigations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and train employees at all levels of the organization.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) is preferred.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
