What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, Field Marketing Events position at Sage?
Picture this — people are lined up at your booth to talk to you and/or your team at a tradeshow you discovered. Your booth draws people in, keeps them engaged and competitors are darn right jealous...and it’s all because of your efforts. Sound satisfying? We’re rethinking tradeshows and you’ll get to be at the forefront of success. You’ll decide which tech shows give us the best ROI, develop processes used for years to come all while creating growth opportunities for your team.
Responsibilities:
First 90 days snapshot: Right away, you’ll learn about processes, meet stakeholders and your direct report, and start contributing to shows. By 60-90 days you’ll begin building processes and strategies to get the most out of events. You’ll set parameters to leverage assets and goals for getting the most out of shows. As we plan ahead, you’ll play a huge part in choosing the events we attend. Be the "must see" booth: We just went through a rebrand and we’re super excited about it. Everything we do incorporates our values—bold, human, trust, simplicity. This means humanizing tech talk and even offering teeter totters at our booths. You’ll partner with our brand team and agencies to craft spaces you’re proud of, then develop reports that reflect what’s working (and what’s not). It won’t be a cake walk, but the results will be worth the work. Meet your direct report & manager: You’ll lead a very driven, enthusiastic sponge who is nailing the tradeshow game. Your goal will be to support them so they can do their best work. Your manager advocates for the human before the job. They encourage their team to unplug, invests in them as people and works with them to accomplish big things. You can expect mutual respect and opportunities to grow! What's travel look like? We go to about 100 tradeshows per year, but with your help we’ll get more strategic with our attendance. You’ll decide when your attendance would benefit you and the team the most (likely amount to 30% travel). Most of your travel will be US, however you may support international events. We know events can be exhausting and sometimes require odd hours. Your efforts won’t go unnoticed—take time off, celebrate wins and expect recognition from stakeholders (like one-off bonuses and shout outs). Minimum qualifications: • 5 years executing large tradeshows • Confident taking over tradeshow management right away • Examples of how your direct report went on to bigger things • Managed projects leveraging cross-functional relationships • Desire to learn general tech lingo (or know already) Your benefits: • Competitive salaries that landed us top 5% of similar sized companies (according to Comparably) • Comprehensive health, dental and vision coverage • 401(k) retirement match (100% matching up to 4%) • 21 days paid time off ( 1 floating holiday) • 5 days paid yearly to volunteer (through Sage Foundation) • Sage Wellness Rewards Program (flexible ways to use wellness credit and fitness reimbursement) • A library of on-demand career development options and ongoing training offerings Hear from our employees: According to our employee feedback on Comparably, we scored a 4.8/5 rating on company culture and our employees gave our CEO a score of 90/100. We also won awards in 2021 for Best Company when it comes to diversity, compensation, women, work-life balance, leadership, and career growth, to name a few.
