Description
SAIC is seeking a Logistics Associate to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama.
Job Description :
- Performs life cycle management and integrated product support (IPS) of components supporting major systems.
- Controls the efficient flow of goods, services and information between points of origin through customer placement in order to meet customer requirements.
- Verifies materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, notes and reports discrepancies and obvious damages.
- Prepares and arranges materials and products in bulk and non-bulk forms for distribution or storage.
- Stores, stacks, or palletizes materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
- Rearranges and takes inventory of stored materials, examines stored materials and reports deterioration and damage.
- Verifies material against customer requests, pulls inventory items, consolidates material onto warehouse pallets and / or Air Force pallets in preparation for shipment to CONUS / OCONUS locations.
- Conducts Quality Assurance / Quality Control procedures to ensure accuracy against customer order.
- Secures material to pallets in accordance with prescribed government regulations.
- Utilizes an integrated life-cycle database (COLTS) to track and monitor all material received, moved, or shipped.
- Prepares shipping documentation for all material.
- Operates forklifts and related warehouse material-handling equipment to move, load / unload material, equipment, and products.
- Ensures the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistic processes.
- Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures.
- Work is closely supervised. Follow specific, detailed instructions.
- Contacts are primarily with immediate supervisor, project leaders, and other professionals in the group.
Qualifications
Required Education :
Bachelors degree and (0) zero years experience; Four years of experience considered in lieu of degree.
Qualifications :
- Prior experience operating Material Handling Equipment preferred.
- Able to wear safety-toed footwear and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) daily.
- Experience operating / navigating COLTS database preferred.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Clearance :
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a full Secret clearance; Minimum of an Interim Secret clearance required to start.
