Job Summary:

The Director of Marketing at Saint John’s Resort is responsible for leading the strategic direction and execution of all marketing initiatives across various channels. This role involves creating and implementing integrated marketing strategies to elevate the resort's image and drive revenue. The Director will oversee communication efforts, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and manage the development of marketing collateral, social media content, as well as facilitate relationships with our partners for website design and public relations. Experience in luxury hospitality marketing and a proven track record of success are essential.


Responsibilities:

  • Creating, implementing, and measuring the success of a comprehensive integrated marketing, CRM, social, digital, partnerships, web, communications and public relations strategy that will enhance Saint John’s Resort's luxury image, brand standards and position within the marketplace.
  • Facilitate internal and external communications, including all paid advertising, marketing, communications and public relations activities and materials including publications, media relations, client acquisition and so forth, for hotel, corporate, group and social sales, all resort food & beverage outlets and golf.
  • Achieve marketing goals and financial objectives, with a focus on measuring success and reporting progress to leadership.
  • Run the organic social media accounts for the resort and all its outlets. Collect and create content, manage content calendars and interact with community on social platforms to drive followers and engagement.
  • Manage the resort and outlet websites including making content updates directly and working with Digital agency on performance and ongoing updates.
  • Collaborate with team members, management, and third-party partners to drive creativity, innovation, and accountability.
  • Proofread and edit copywriting to maintain brand voice and consistency.
  • Manage programming and activations targeting specific demographics, ensuring alignment with resort objectives.
  • Coordinate food, architectural and lifestyle photo & video shoots and manage visual assets effectively.
  • Collaborate with media and journalists to increase exposure of the resort through relationship with PR agency.
  • Identify and develop new marketing partnerships to expand the resort's reach.
  • Develop resort collateral, including multimedia, audio, visual, and print components.
  • Utilize experience with golf resorts to enhance marketing efforts in this area.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of hospitality marketing experience, preferably in a luxury environment.
  • Experience managing complex hotel assets such as resorts, event spaces, culinary, and golf.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, with five years of marketing, advertising, or public relations experience.
  • Demonstrated skills in the design and execution of marketing activities such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Digital Marketing, etc.
  • Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational, and sales skills.
  • Proven track record in executing corporate, owner, and brand initiatives.
  • Experience leading public relations strategy and overseeing print materials production.
  • Proficiency in word processing, database management, and page layout software.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of electronic media, public relations, sales, and marketing trends.

About Saint John’s Resort

Saint John’s Resort, the premier resort destination in Detroit features 200 acres of luscious grounds, 118 luxurious hotel rooms, three bars and restaurants – upscale FIVE Steakhouse, The Wine Grotto, and Doyles Pub (opening Summer 2024), and more than 50,000 square feet of unique event and wedding space.
