What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist position at Salinas Valley Health?
Position works under the supervision of the Manager, Human Resources. The HR Generalist performs Human Resources related duties at the professional level with both breadth and depth across all functional areas of HR (Talent Acquisition, Leave of Absence, Compliance and Regulatory, Total Rewards and more). The HR Generalist is empowered to independently resolve a broad range of customer inquiries and requests.
1. Education: Work requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree in business or Human Resources related field strongly preferred.
2. Licensure: HRCI or SHRM HR certification is preferred.
3. Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience preferably in Human Resources Knowledge of fundamental principles and practices of Human Resources Administration preferred. Experience in one or more of the functional areas of HR (Talent Acquisition, Leave of Absence, Compliance, Total Rewards) is preferred.
4. Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Ability to input and extract data from computerized Human Resources Information system; manual dexterity to retrieve files and operate office equipment, including computers, printers, copiers, and fax machines.
5. Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in dealing with public, co- workers, and hospital management. Presents a professional, outgoing, and welcoming appearance and attitude to all prospective and current employees and customers.
6. Essential Mental Abilities: Must be able to work under pressure and maintain composure in stressful situations, to use good judgement and available resources, be detail-oriented and meet established deadlines regardless of the presence or adverse conditions.
