As Director, GI National Accounts, you will be responsible for the development, implementation and execution of strategy, and operational plans that will optimize and enhance our partnership within National and Key Regional Gastroenterology (GI) Accounts. The Director, GIL National Accounts drives results by executing against corporate and brand objectives with key accounts and will engage the GI large and mid-sized group practice community to establish a strong corporate presence, partnership, and advocacy for our key brands.
This role will lead the East Coast territory.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop strategy for large GI group practice engagement and ongoing lead insight gathering from key customers to inform future brand strategy
- Prioritization of accounts and account opportunities through identification of areas of mutual interest between Salix and key GI accounts
- Development and execution of focused and strategic business plans to maximize partnership opportunities for each key Account
- Execute upon engagement plan with key executives and decision makers within targeted National and Regional GI Accounts
- Identify partnership opportunities that increase brand advocacy, increase access, and drive better patient/provider outcomes
- Understand digital systems utilized within each key account, including not limited to EHR, E-prescribing, and communication platforms
- Attend and represent Salix at annual GI large group meetings such as GI Alliance, Gastro Health, One GI etc.
- Conduct quarterly progress reviews of each key account with senior leadership
- Coordinate with sales teams on key account strategic and tactical plans
- Collaborate with market access leadership on payer pull-through initiatives
- Develop and implement strategy for Direct Sale Program for appropriate products
- Monitor evolving market trends as it relates to continued consolidation of GI practices
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 years' experiences in sales, sales management, or account management
- Experience in GI preferred
- 30% - 40% travel required
- Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Life Sciences, Pharmacy or Business-related discipline)
- This role requires a strong background in the pharmaceutical industry as well as a high level of analytical and conceptual ability to provide strategic focus to guide tactical execution.
- You will be proficient at uncovering customer-based insights and leveraging this knowledge to drive strategy and program development. Additional requirements include the ability to lead and ensure collaboration across multiple internal stakeholders and vendors.
- Demonstrated understanding of GI account dynamics and ability to build strategic plans
- Demonstrated experience in leading strategy, leading people, and fostering collaboration
- Proven ability to use analytical skills and critical thinking to diagnosis business issues and incorporate into development or adjustment of marketing plans to achieve business results in a self-directed manner
- Ability to understand, uncover, and address customer needs
- Excellent quantitative abilities and excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)
- Exceptional use of time management, planning, organizational, selling and negotiation skills
- Ability to work well across a matrix organization with strong collaboration skills to drive performance effectively and efficiently
- Demonstrated ability to lead and excel in a matrix environment
