Telemetry Tech
Provides direct and indirect patient care under the direction of a RN or physician. Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides for personal care, emotional support and performs more complex clinical skills under the direction of a RN. Monitors cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac screen or telemetry monitors. Meets communication needs of the department. Transcribes physician orders from records with notation and signatures by nursing staff. Prepares and compiles records in the department. Point of Care Testing, including collection, testing and reporting as it relates to job position. When assigned and according to hospital policy, will perform observation of patients who are at risk for injury secondary to suicide, falls, or other risks.
Requirements:
- Successful completion of a Telemetry Course within the first year of employment.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and written in English
- Current BLS (CPR) issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association Healthcare Provider.
- Successful completion of a Telemetry Course within the first year of employment.
