What are the responsibilities and job description for the Internal Event Marketing Manager position at Samsara?

We are looking for an energetic, highly organized, A-player who loves a fast paced, high performing environment. In this role, you will plan & execute Samsara’s internal events including company-wide and departmental all-hands, holiday parties, sales incentive trips and other company gatherings. Partnering across all departments, this role will lead engaging and valuable events contributing to Samsara’s company culture.
In this role, you will:
- Develop, plan and run internal events that help run the business, including company town halls, tech talks, company gatherings & more
- Manage and execute events that promote Samsara’s culture, including holiday parties, sales incentive trips, employee resource group (ERG) events & more
- Manage multiple concurrent & complex programs (in-person, hybrid and virtual events), while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and executive leadership
- Establish success criteria & analyze event impact; prepare stakeholder and executive follow-up communications and make recommendations for iteration and improvement
- Be a team player and provide support for other teammate’s programs, including in person executional support and ad hoc projects
- Develop and manage program budget, reconciliation, & expenses and notify manager of status
- Understand Samsara’s brand, culture, and values and develop event experiences that reflect it
- Bring energy, creativity, positivity and new ideas to maintain & build upon Samsara’s internal event program
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
Minimum requirements for the role:
- 3-5 years of experience in event marketing and/or project management
- 25% travel required for live events or site visits
- Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment and run multiple concurrent project demands within established timelines
- Passion for creating a well-established and enjoyable company culture that everyone wants to be a part of
- Strong communication, negotiation, and budget-management skills, with the ability to work across all levels of an organization
- Great attention to detail

- Bachelor’s degree or higher
