Description :

Samson, the worldwide leader in high performance cordage, is seeking a Splicer, who will fabricate and splice various rope assemblies for inventory and orders.

Splicers will also practice a high level of business ethics and professionalism while adhering to safety and quality guidelines in accordance with Samson strategy and core values.

2nd Shift Schedule : 2 : 45pm - 11 : 15pm

There may be times we require employees to work scheduled overtime on weekends as needed. Applicants should expect this to be a potential part of employment with Samson.

Who You Are :

• A team player who works well with a diverse group of individuals and can build relationships with coworkers.
• Mechanically inclined with an aptitude to troubleshoot minor machine failures, make minor adjustments, and perform preventative maintenance.
• A clear and concise communicator in both written and oral forms.
• An attentive listener who can hear / perceive the nature of sounds by ear and follow verbal directions.
• A proficient computer user with basic skills in Microsoft Windows and the Internet.
• Capable of gathering, recording, and reporting on operational and quality metrics, through manual or automated systems.
• Physically able to twist / turn, reach over shoulders, and stand / walk on a prolonged basis.
• Able to lift 10 ??? 25lbs frequently and 25 ??? 50lbs occasionally.

What You'll Do :

• Perform splices in 12-strand, single braided, and double braided products up to 5 in diameter.
• Install chafe protection.
• Perform all post operations such as seizing, lock stitching, coating, and encapsulation as required.
• Follow all safety procedures and requirements, maintain a clean work area, and comply with 5S.
• Perform quality inspection on the line while it is being spliced.
• Engage in quality control and notify the supervisor or quality control department of any equipment or operation problems.
• Participate in process improvement programs (i.e., Lean).
• Use production machinery, forklift and / or pallet jack, and common hand tools.

What You Should Have :

Education

• Required : Basic reading comprehension, writing, and arithmetic skills. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to use the English language to engage in effective communication within our business operations.
• Desired : High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Compensation :

Targeted Hiring Wage : $18.00 - $25.75

Samson has established wage scales for all of our positions, which are based on a minimum and maximum. The targeted hiring rate above is set to allow for employee's growth within the role.

The full range for this position is $18.00 (min) - $26.55 (max) hourly.
