What are the responsibilities and job description for the Urologist position at Samuel Staffing?
POSITION SUMMARY
Urologists are doctors who treat conditions affecting the urinary tract of men and women as well as men’s reproductive organs. These are also surgeons who are qualified by formal training, experience, and certification to perform clinical duties. The Urologist will maintain both current license / certification with the American Board of Medical Specialists and State Physicians Board.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical
- Evaluates patients upon admission, reviewing personal medical history, and performing an appropriate physical exam.
- Interprets and evaluates patient data for the purpose of determining management and treatment of patients. Consult with referring physician as appropriate.
- Adjusts patient care plan by reviewing and monitoring treatments and therapy plans.
- Administers or orders laboratory, radiological and diagnostic tests that will assist with the medical management; explain the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipates effects of treatments, and diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
- Performs daily rounds at privileged hospitals.
- Prescribes, recommends, and regulates appropriate pharmacologic medicine.
- Functions as a surgeon in the operating room, including pre and post-operative intervention, when necessary.
- Documents appropriately as required, including, but not limited to: evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, billing documentation, treatment notes, and other reports as requested.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Graduation from an accredited Medical School. Doctor of Medicine degree with focus in Urology.
- Certification required as a Physician granted by the American Board of Medical Specialists and American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
- Fellowship and Residency training is preferred.
- Current ACLS, BLS and CPR certification required.

- Current knowledge of acceptable and appropriate clinical practice, quality assurance, and patient management and care.
- Proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective member of a health care team.

- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Regularly required to sit and stand for extensive periods of time.
- Intermittently required to stoop, bend, speak and listen.
- Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.
