Primary Purpose
The Painter’s Helper, under the general direction of the Director of Maintenance, and the immediate
direction of Painter Supervisor, assists the Painter in accomplishing various tasks related to the painting
or work that may be assigned within the district.

Tools/Equipment Used: Brushes, rollers, striping machine, taping and masking equipment, spray equipment, sand and water blaster, air compressor, dry wall and equipment, hand tools, ladders, scaffolding, and light and truck or van.
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Valid Texas Driver’s License, insurable with the San Benito CISD insurance carrier, and a good driving record
- One year of prior experience in painting field
- General knowledge of tools and equipment
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to communicate
- Skills testing will be required
- Complies with District directives and Maintenance Policies and Procedures and follows all safety procedures.
- Complies to directions issued by the Painter Supervisor in charge of task.
- Operate dump truck or trailer to haul materials as required
- Is responsible for proper maintenance and use of all tools and equipment assigned.
- Keeps all materials stored in a neat and orderly manner.
- Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance.
- Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
