Supervisor: Business Support Manager
Supervises: None
Hours: Up to 24 hours a week
Job Summary: The maintenance & janitorial worker will perform general maintenance, cleaning, and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, heating and cooling, yard maintenance, and other building systems.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- General Maintenance
- Responsible for vehicle maintenance
- Maintain outdoor grounds, cut grass, and maintain landscaping
- Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs
- Assist with scheduling vendors and contractors for necessary building repairs and emergencies that are outside of the scope of routine maintenance
- Maintains schedule of when maintenance has been performed and when the next service is due
- Performs routine maintenance on building interior and exterior
- Keeps safety equipment in good working order in accordance with audits and accreditations
- Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture crates, and equipment
- Works in a safe manner and recognizes unsafe situations. Takes appropriate action to ensure safety of themselves and others in the building.
- Janitorial
- Responsible for inventory of cleaning supplies
- Maintains SDS books – adding new chemical/materials as needed
- Cleans and assists with the upkeep of the facilities
- Sweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines
- Will use ladder to dust, wash walls, cleans ceilings, polish light fixtures and wash/replace blinds
- Empty trash
- Complete additional tasks and responsibilities as needed or assigned
- Promote positive public relations towards individuals with developmental disabilities
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and automobile insurance
- Ability to follow instruction from supervisors
- Maintain professional internal and external relationships
- Use of standard construction tools including a drill, electric saw, ladder, etc.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Must be able to work independently
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- At least 1-2 years maintenance experience
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. at a time
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
