General Purpose:

The Banquet Manager(s) will lead and support the Banquet Operations, both front and back of house to ensure complete customer satisfaction and encourage repeat business, while complying with the Sandestin Investments, LLC Vision, Mission and Service Fundamentals.


Essential Duties:

  • Lead, through your direct reports, maximize the employee experience, ensure effective SOP’s and systems, deliver optimal guest service while driving revenue.
  • Facilitate a healthy workplace through daily appreciation and positive communication with direct report and employees with “dignity and respect” in mind at all times.
  • Support the Group Sales Team by ensuring the conference facilities are site-visit ready at established times. Offering additional Site Inspection support when requested through internal site inspection notices or other channels of communication.
  • Support the Executive Chef and Culinary Team by adhering to all banquet standards, including but not limited to, food presentation, service standards and client-agreed service times.
  • Continuously maintain the banquet training manual. Manual should be adjusted regularly to account for updates in catering trends, internal policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Attend SDI client and all internal meetings as requested.
  • Ability to multitask and oversee multiple concurrent events occurring at the same time, in multiple buildings through careful planning, logistics and time management.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Basic Required Skills:

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Utilizes an “open door” policy, and reviews employee satisfaction results to identify and address employee problems or concerns.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft software such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • May be required: to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


Physical Demands:

  • Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by the environmental systems.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 5 hours in length.
  • Must be able to exert a well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 25 lbs. as needed.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and other employees.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
