Position: Director of Nursing
Location: Boulder, Colorado
Work Environment: Teen Residential Treatment Center
Compensation: $100,000 - 110,000 Annual Salary
Schedule: Full Time | Monday to Friday On Call
Key Responsibilities:
- Supports medical and clinical team to provide a consistently high level of medical care within an adolescent residential treatment program.
- Coordinating a weekly schedule based on facility and staffing needs as assessed.
- Supports the medical and clinical team to provide a safe and stable environment for patients
- Performs nursing duties and acts as a medical resource and support to Behavioral Health Technicians
- Administrative duties will include direct consultation with Chief Nursing Officer, regarding performance improvement needs for all inpatient locations, training, and staff skill evaluation
- This individual also may support medication administration, lab specimen procurement to include blood draws, urinalysis, breathalyzer tests, and completed supporting documentation.
- This role will also require that this individual assist in covering nursing floor shifts in times of emergent times of need.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in Nursing Leadership is required this include:
- Managing nursing scheduling and using creative problem solving to ensure floor coverage
- Experience coaching and developing nurses at all stages of their careers
- Holding nurses accountable to program policies and having difficult corrective conversations when needed
- Always acting with integrity and holding a high standard for exceptional client care
- Ability to be flexible and cover floor shifts, to include Nursing and Behavioral Health Technician roles, if need is assessed and warranted by Chief Nursing Officer
- Participate in a nursing leadership on-call schedule rotation with other members of nursing leadership.
Training & Experience:
- RN license in the state of Colorado (or ability to seek endorsement)
- 2 Years of previous Nursing leadership experience
- Valid driver’s license with no restrictions
- Previous experience in residential treatment or high acuity crisis work is required
- Previous experience with treatment of substance abuse and/or co-occurring disorders is preferred
- Ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years of experience in the behavioral health field
- Ideal candidate has desire for professional growth and development.
Floor duties will include all standard job description items below related to the provision of services by an RN in the employment of Sandstone Care for patients at inpatient locations:
- Contribute to a high-performing culture, focused on partnering with patients as we inspire and empower change
- Adhere to all aspects of the programs policies and procedures to ensure quality performance and assist the Performance Improvement Committee in any quality improvements that may be necessary
- Attends necessary team meetings discussing progress, regress and/or failure; contribute to planning for the program completion, follow-up support and communication with the treatment program
- Support recruitment of competent and trained staff
- Work closely with all members of the team to assure positive working relationships
- Must consistently demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain good public relations with families, referral agencies, and other community resources
- Must have the ability to express ideas clearly, concisely, convincingly, and effectively when addressing an audience
- To consistently exercise good nursing judgment and adequate emotional stability in evaluating situations and making decisions despite the pressures of deadlines or the occurrence of unexpected stressful events
- Participate on committees and in professional meetings as necessary for the functions of the program
- Provides supportive leadership for community meetings and selected off-campus activities
- Assisting with staff training and development to include onsite QMAP courses, CPR training, and other identified on-going needs
- Performing all job duties related to supporting floor nursing
- Will participate in a rotating nursing leadership on-call with others in nursing leadership
- Supports scheduling for nursing and behavioral health technicians at all inpatient locations.
- Assist Regional Director of Nursing with inventory of all inpatient supplies, procurement, and expense reports related to the purchase of these items.
- Assisting with state required or regulatory body data entry
- Organizing and assisting with administration of annual flu-shot clinic for all SSC employees
- Will assist with formal disciplinary actions for nursing and behavioral health technician staff
- Organizes and maintains infection control and prevention procedures as needed per regulatory bodies
- Will work closely with program directors of inpatient facilities for training and management needs.
- Other duties as assigned
