News Page Designer

The Courier, in Findlay, Ohio is seeking a full-time or a part-time page designer to work as part of our combined designed desk in Northwest Ohio.

Our design team creates six editions per week for the Register, as well as The Advertiser-Tribune in Tiffin and Review Times, in Fostoria, The Courier in Findlay and the Norwalk Reflector.

The page designer is a second-shift position. The ideal candidate must have newspaper design experience, along with knowledge of graphic design principles. The candidate must be able to multitask while working within the confines of tight deadlines.

We have award-winning newspapers with deep rich histories in the communities we serve.

We're watchdogs, cheerleaders and storytellers. The page desk chief manages a four-person desk and works in collaboration with other page desks in our newspaper group. We're looking for someone with enthusiasm for the work and a desk that builds must-read newsaper pages that inform, enlighten, entertain and get readers fired up. Ogden Newspapers has 60-plus newspapers across the country, so there's great opportunity for professional growth within our company.

Experience with Adobe Photoshop and InDesign and Microsoft Office is preferable, along with working in a PC format. The candidate should also have a working knowledge of AP style, as headlines and stories may need adjusted to fit a certain space, and photos may need color corrected and resized.
