Job Title: Advanced Level Practice Nurses

Job Summary:
Sanford Federal, Inc. is looking for an Advanced Level Practice Nurses to perform remotely. The job requires 20 hrs per week for 26 weeks. The facility contains a 92bed inpatient care facility for acutely mentally ill adults in Ohio.

Essential Requirements:
- Experience working in the behavioral healthcare environment.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience providing medical care
- Board certified and licensed in family medicine in Ohio.
- Passed the Advanced Level Practice nurse program
- Valid license as Registered Nurse: completion of advanced level practice nurse program for Clinical Nurse Specialist or Certified Nurse Practitioner in Family Practice & certified by Ohio Board of Nursing for advanced practice with valid certificate of authority.
Duties:
With approval of the Chief Clinical Officer, will provide Family Practice certified Advanced Practice Nurses (FP-APN). These FP-APNs will assume medical responsibility for physical examinations, diagnosis, treatment and management of patients. FP-APNs will prescribe medications, administrator treatment for acute and chronically ill patients, monitor medical progress of patients, document services rendered and maintain confidential medical record for each patient. FP-APNs will perform physical examinations on patients and employees as required, perform appropriate minor surgical procedures, refer patients for surgical consultations and treatment, provide patient and family education when appropriate, remain current in the clinical and academic fields of primary care and family medicine.
The designated FP-APN will serve as medical consultant to psychiatrists, nurses and other professionals as required in the evaluation and/or treatment of medical conditions and as such, shall consult with other medical specialists to determine appropriate care or treatments. FP-APNs will facilitate admission, discharge and readmission of patients referred for inpatient treatment at other facilities. FP-APNs shall maintain accurate documentation of medical services rendered (complete medical evaluation forms, admission and discharge records, interpret and analyze laboratory reports and clinical diagnostic findings, provide instructions and/or medical records to nursing and staff.
