Job Summary
Responsible for maintaining knowledge of current quality and cost measures within value based programs and contracts, including but not limited to, value based purchasing, bundled payments, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Wellmark, merit based incentive payment system (MIPS), alternative payment models, accountable care organization contracts, and episode based payment measures. The Senior Quality Strategist will focus on cost, utilization, and advancing care information metrics and requirements. Compile and analyze information from various sources to understand measure methodology and the performance of Sanford Health. Identify opportunities to improve outcomes and communicate findings to senior corporate leadership, regional executive management, and quality and safety leadership teams. Inform quality leaders within each market to develop strategies to reach top performance. Collaborate with information technology (IT) and data and analytics leadership to modify the electronic health record to maintain compliance with requirements, enable electronic methods of value measurement, and develop useful reports to monitor these activities. May assist in educating staff on requirements related to workflows and use of the electronic health record. A familiarity with the structure of healthcare systems, practice and utilization patterns in various healthcare settings is necessary. Possess the ability to deal effectively with frontline staff, providers, leadership, and regulatory agencies. Ability to collect and organize detailed information. Willing to seek out new information and knowledge and be willing to embrace new responsibilities and change.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. Bachelor's in nursing preferred. Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Master’s degree preferred.
Must be skilled with Microsoft Excel. Three or more years’ experience in the healthcare industry is highly recommended. A variety of experiences may be applicable to this role including direct care, quality, billing, policy, contracting, and technology.
Certification in the individual’s profession is preferred.
If an Registered Nurse, hold an unencumbered license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state
