Job Summary

Displays ability to apply the knowledge and skills of advanced social work practice, responding to suspected abuse, neglect or violence in accordance with the National Association of Social Work Code of Ethics policies and procedures alongside the appropriate state laws. Demonstrates significant knowledge in child development and behavior The Senior Social Worker possesses an expert level of critical thinking and is able to complete in-depth psychosocial assessments, along with best practices in child development, social-emotional behavior, and early childhood mental health. Exhibits ability to apply skills to real life situations.

The Senior Social Worker will work primarily as an integral part of the Social-Emotional program. The purpose of the program is to support early childhood programs and families in an effort to prevent and/or limit expulsion and suspension practices in early childhood settings.

The Senior Social Worker provides assistance to childcare teachers and the parent(s)/caregivers of a child with social, emotional and/or behavior concerns. Utilizes appropriate age-related client care protocol relating to the psychological and behavior needs of children. Demonstrates knowledge and experience in assessing psychosocial needs. Possesses ability to work with growth and developmental needs of client populations.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited curriculum required.

Childcare and/or child development experience preferred.

Must possess a license in good standing in state(s) of practice:

Certified Social Worker (CSW)
