What's the Short Version?
The Copywriter creates messaging that connects with audiences and inspires people to act. They use writing, editing and proofreading skills to work on projects as diverse as print catalogs and brand books, digital ads and experiences, employee communications and inventive email subject lines that cut through the noise. The Copywriter crafts creative copy that satisfies business objectives, captures readers' hearts and minds, and reinforces SanMar's position as the industry's most helpful and trustworthy leader.

The Copywriter is a team player who works as a part of a highly adept writing team that supports one another when it comes to proofreading, product campaigns (online, print and email) and other editorial endeavors.

What Will You Be Doing?

• Write original content for a variety of marketing communication materials including print collateral, sales tools, advertisements, newsletters, blogs, emails, direct mail and more.
• Assist senior writers with large, complex projects like print catalogs and multi-channel campaigns.
• Edit, copyedit, and proofread for accuracy and consistency, ensuring all copy is adhering to both AP Style and SanMar's style.
• Collaborate with fellow writers in identifying and obtaining information needed to carry out assignments.
• Work with fellow writers, creative and marketing professionals to fine-tune concepts into effective and practical marketing campaigns.
• Participate in creative brainstorming sessions.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of communication and client-related industry trends.
• Stay updated on appropriate style guidelines and brand voice for consistency in messaging.

What Are We Looking For?

• Bachelor's Degree in journalism, English, communications, advertising, or related field Required.
• 4-6 years of writing or editing experience in an in-house, agency, or marketing environment.
• Less than 1 year experience with InDesign or other Adobe CS software.
• Exceptional writing skills.
• Working accurately under multiple deadlines.

• Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Highly motivated and self-sufficient.

• Excellent communication skills.

What's Our Offer?
Salary Range: You`ll earn between $65,500 - $90,000 annually, depending on experience.

Bonus: You`ll be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus up to 10% of base salary.

Paid Time Off: You`ll accrue paid time off on a bi-weekly basis based on hours worked up to 112 hours per year to start. Employees also receive 7 paid holidays and 1 paid family day off.

What Should You Expect?
Hybrid: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work environment is moderately quiet. Ability to work on computer for multiple hours with frequent interruptions.

SanMar's Eastpointe office is located near Seattle, WA and our standard working hours are 8:00-5:00 PST. Quarterly travel may be required.
