Job Purpose
The Environmental Technician will be responsible to operate Waste Treatment plants, water recycling system, batch treatments under routine and non routine conditions. Will be exposed to hazardous environmental while performing daily job duties. Maintaining and monitoring documentations, permits, inspections, records etc, necessary to maintain Sanmina facilities in compliance with the regulatory agencies.
Nature of Duties/Responsibilities
- Ability and knowledge to running Waste water Treatment plant, water Recycling system, batch treatments and all equipment and appurtenances used in this operations. Including repair and installations.
- Knowledge of all document involve in chemical and waste material haul away under Manifest and bill of loading.
- Manage hazardous waste according to RCRA regulations.
- Perform chemical analysis using lab equipment like colorimeters, atomic absorption, pH-meter equipments and knowledge of sampling procedures include chain of custody documentation
- General Waste and non-waste Labeling
- Maintain and update SDS files in areas under his control
- Perform and maintain records of daily/weekly and monthly haz-waste, safety, storm drain, WT and batch operations logs/inspections.
- Manage waste and chemical material inventories
- Delivers training/communication sessions for EH&S Department employees with respect to Safety, polices, work Instructions and procedures.
- Follow all safety measures, policies and procedures necessary to perform this job.
- Collaborates with external Environmental Engineer toward achieving ISO 14001 objectives and targets.
Education and Experience
- AS/AA degree preferred or equivalent experience in EHS technical field.
- Two year degree in related field (i.e environmental health, industrial safety, chemistry)
- 2 yrs of experience
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English necessary to perform the job.
- Driving forklift will be necessary and be certified within 90 days
- Demands: Able to lift 50 pounds, sitting, standing, walking.
- Proficient on computer software applications (excel. Words, e-mails etc).
- Able to work with process chemicals. Possible exposure to all workplace hazards
- Mechanical skill as plus
- Knowledge of use all PPE necessary to perform this job
- Good organizational and initiative skills
Salary Range(annual): $49,920 -$54,080
