Missions and objectives:
- Finance Lead and Business Partner for the US Multiple Sclerosis (MS) business, providing strategic direction and concurrence on all financial matters
- Responsible for the controlling and reporting processes including P&L, headcount and operating expenses during monthly financial closes, forecast, budget and strategic planning processes
- Supervise one Lead Controller plus temps who maintain financial control over commercial operating expense budgets including headcount costs, departmental expenses and marketing tactics
- Oversee the end to end month end close process including analysis of actual sales, gross to net deductions to sales, assessing operating expenses, approving journal entries, appraising balance sheet reconciliations, reviewing headcount reporting and creating financial reporting
- Generate performance reports for the Sanofi Genzyme Leadership and provide recommendations on corrective actions
- Partner, analyze and provide recommendations in conjunction with US Business Operations around sales forecasting and data analytics to analyze actual sales performance ($2B gross sales and $1.5B net); communicate major deviations versus Budget and Forecast to the business and finance teams, including identifying potential opportunities and risks
- Support internal controls and external audits
- Direct the annual Budget, Forecast and Strategic Plan processes including establishing timelines, validating data, generating reports and creating PowerPoint slides that measure and align to key business priorities
- Key financial lead for business financial presentations for various Senior Leadership Teams including US & Global teams, Head of NA MSOI, Sanofi Genzyme Executive Leadership Team, Sanofi Corporate Finance, and Alliance Leadership Teams
- Special Mandates (20-30%): inclusive of IT financial system platforms, evaluation of business projects / key initiatives (ROI), and business / product development
- Support Head of MSOI in relation to Puerto Rico and Canada
Requirements:
- The position requires a Finance or Accounting degree and 10 years or more experience in finance or related disciplines with exposure
- CPA or MBA preferred
- Experience with Management Reporting Systems
- Controlling experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry
- Full understanding of financial concepts and Controlling including experience in Revenues and Expense controlling
- Knowledge of Hyperion, TM1 Cognos
- The ability to work and collaborate in complex organizations and Matrix environment
- Strong Leadership Qualities
- Ability to reprioritize and work in a fast pace environment
