Overview:
The Technical Manager provides leadership for all technical processes, product quality, continuous improvement, and integrated management for the Sappi Westbrook location. The position is a key member of the Management Leadership Team and Technical/Quality Platform team. The Manager collaborates with Manufacturing, Technology Center, and Sales and Marketing and manages four direct reports.
Responsibilities:
- LSS, IMS, Process Stability, Cognex, Brain Cube, Trials, Process troubleshooting, Base Quality, Sampling, Document Control, MOC, Technical Service, Product Specification, Proficy, Claims Management, ISO, Customer/Manufacturing Quality
- Provides direct employee development to the Technical and Quality Departments.
Entry requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (Chemical Engineering preferred) or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in an industrial environment
- 3-5 years management level experience
- Experience in Customer Technical Service a plus
- Experience in technical paper, film, fabrics, or related industry would be beneficial
