SARAH SENECA Residential Services, Inc. is a private, not for profit human service agency serving the Connecticut shoreline towns of Branford, North Branford, Guilford, Madison and Clinton.
We provide residential services for individuals with intellectual / developmental disabilities in In-home Supports or Group Home settings.
We are looking for multiple Direct Support Professionals to work in group home settings.
Job Duties include :
- Assistance with personal care and hygiene and other activities of daily living
- Administer medications via State of Connecticut Medication Administration Certification.
- Support and oversee each individual in carrying out assigned aspects of his / her medical care, programming, financial management, and personal care.
- Transport individuals to and from appointments and activities.
- Assist individuals in choosing and attending safe and appropriate leisure time activities.
- Demonstrate effective and professional communication skills, work autonomously, and utilize good judgment in problem-solving and dealing with crisis situations.
- PMT supports as needed.
- Maintain certifications to provide CPR and First Aid as needed.
Job Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of intellectual disabilities.
- Valid State of Connecticut drivers license required with clean driving record.
- Own vehicle for work purposes as needed.
- Working knowledge of ADL skills : i.e. banking, food preparation, housekeeping, money management.
- Med certification through DDS required for all permanent positions (within 6 months of hire)
- Weekend availability is required
Positions available on all shifts but mostly 2nd shift.
