What You'll Do in This Position

Responsible for planning, implementing and administering a variety of broad or unique programmatic, technical, or administrative functions for support of operations. May provide immediate level guidance, work direction, oversight, and leadership to a limited functional work group. Assignment to one of the groups within Financial Operations: Accounting , Accounts Payable, Cash Management, Travel, Benefits Accounting, Payroll, Contract Accounting or Strategic Financial Control and Analysis. Major Responsibilities Promote and demonstrate world-class safety behavior in order to create and sustain a safe working environment and lifestyle. Conduct all aspects of work safely and securely, continuously improving in pursuit of injury- and incident-free performance. Reporting and Analysis - Create and conduct primary queries to gather necessary data to generate financial reports and analyzes. Assemble, analyze, and interpret information and apply practical knowledge to create innovative solutions to resolve complex business issues. Present business solutions to upper management and customers. Can serve as the key linkage between DOE/NNSA for financial reporting. Perform extensive analysis of various business operations to ascertain funding limitations and execute appropriate cost controls; identify productivity and financial issues; design highly integrated financial controls; and create cost effective processes to enhance productivity. May present information to SRNS management, DOE and other customers. Define and apply strategic requirements and develop models for very complex business systems, develop test plans and scenarios, incorporate major system enhancements into existing financial applications, oversee or lead implementation of project and monitor system effectiveness. Incorporate minor and/or major system enhancements and monitor system effectiveness and output. Perform financial activities with a proficient ability and detailed knowledge in the development of financial plans and reports on a periodic or ad hoc basis. Interface on a consistent basis, with internal and external contacts, including all levels of management, for the purpose of obtaining, exchanging and explaining complex information. Communication - Communicate effectively (both oral and written) with Finance Operations team members, internal company customer organizations, management, and external customers to resolve critical business pertinent issues. Exhibit good oral and written communication skills to effectively and accurately present information and express ideas. Display interpersonal skills to maintain positive working relationships through cooperation and open communication. Conduct presentations and training for internal and external audiences, where is subject matter can be difficult to understand, and an extensive amount of preparation is required. Develop a persuasive approach in getting cooperation from other to achieve critical and complex decisions. Business Acumen - Possess an integrated understanding of the company business environment and the operations of the area(s) and function(s) being supported. Exhibit competency at the highest level or programmatic level as demonstrated through both personal expertise. Perform a wide variety of complex, advanced and diverse functions in direct or indirect support of operations within the company. Evaluate and explain audit results of selected financial and accounting functions to ensure adherence to contract and corporate guidelines. Operate under tight deadlines that may be subject to extreme workloads. Talent & Process Development - Exhibit a comprehensive approach to continuous improvement (CI) by identifying and initiating CI opportunities across subject areas. Identify, initiate, encourage and implement continuous improvement opportunities in general subject area. Regularly develop, establish, and continuously improve financial procedures, analysis, and reporting systems. Support a culture that promotes a positive work environment. Provide leadership, technical direction, and training to other financial professionals through guidance and training. Identify and implement new approaches and processes to optimally utilize available resources to successfully meet or exceed finance objectives. Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.
