Job Description / Responsibilities

The Shopper Marketing Leader will lead the charge for organizing Sazerac's Shopper Marketing team in the US, including off-premise / NKA, on-premise, and field marketing, to be a game-changing force in the spirits industry.

This leader will up-level the Shopper Marketing team to be a center of excellence to drive brand strategy while delivering on sales objectives.

This leader will be shopper-fixated, a path-to-purchase expert, and consistently thinking through how Sazerac can show up in retailers across the US.

Being on the cutting edge of market trends and innovative Shopper Marketing solutions is table stakes to win and differentiate in the market.

Key Responsibilities (j ob responsibilities may vary by state depending on regulatory and compliance standards for the state) :

Use PDS as tool to conduct optimal performance discussions, articulate consistent skill evaluations, recommend actions and tactics, and measure progress.

Drive greater PDS leverage across the trade marketing team to improve overall engagement and development.

  • Utilizing insights to craft strategic and turnkey programs that resonate with shoppers throughout their path to purchase, this leader will develop comprehensive on-brand Shopper Marketing initiatives that meet shopper's needs while delivering on both brand and customer priorities.
  • Able to identify resources & experts in markets to localize brand building via shopper marketing. Apply insights into clear recommended approaches & Segment focus across on-prem, off-prem and field marketing by region.
  • Develop Sazerac as a go-to supplier within the retail and on-premise universe. Build the Sazerac reputation to include : thought leadership, customer and consumer focused, agile and flexible, responsive, trustworthy and a driver of category growth.

Personally develop relationships with decision makers at key retailers. Develop a comprehensive wiring matrix for key partners, influencers, media, regulators and customers.

Measure the health of relationships and target improvement where strategically warranted. Improve business performance through better contact management.

Clear leadership of Shopper marketing tool measurement & strategic recommendations to maximize ROI and effectiveness. Guide annual planning, budgeting and overarching investment strategy for Shopper marketing.

Drive the trade marketing agenda channels. Drive continuous improvement in menu placements and programs on premise. Deliver market share growth in U.S. every year.

This Leader will establish objectives, KPIs, and benchmarks to drive and measure strategic Shopper Marketing initiatives with a clear winning mindset.

Manage budgets, organize and effectively deploy plans by galvanizing all folks around how to exploit Shopper materials to the maximum to expand the user base and drive growth.

Deeply partner with sales, business intelligence & in-house creative to develop insight-based path to purchase approach through the last mile of shopper engagement across big segments like Vodka, Rum, whiskey and Shooters.

Implement tools that deliver against path-to-purchase.

Structure and staff for growth. Develop training for brand & sales to inspire the organization & broader. Collaborate with internal agency and POS team to optimize creative and go-to-market approach.

Qualifications / Requirements

MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience in process design, implementation and improvement
  • Communicates a clear vision and priorities
  • Record of successful leadership
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Expert ability to operate at both strategic and executional levels
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of an org
  • Strong customer service aptitude, ability to work with all levels of the organization from Field Level to Executive Management
  • Strong understanding of field sales execution and route to market design
  • experience building and leading teams including hiring & staffing, developing, motivating and directing people.
  • Proven team building capabilities / strong cross-functional teammate, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • 10 years Experience leading the development and execution of commercial strategies
  • 5 years developing Field Marketing teams and strategies
  • 5 years leading a broad team of directs and indirect reports
  • Ability to travel (up to 25%)
