What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Coordinator position at SCC Soft Computer?
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for a highly skilled, detail-oriented accounting coordinator who excels at multitasking. The Accounting Coordinator prepares and carries out all accounting activities within the company in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and consistent with established policy and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviews all purchase orders, prepares shipping invoices, audits inventory levels (cogs), tracks internal purchases and depreciates expense as required by GAAP.
- Prepares, and manages all sales/use/excise Federal, State, and Local tax returns.
- Ensure taxes are filed and paid on time in accordance to tax law, including the Accounting financial system and providing notice to the accounting staff when rates and regulations are changed.
- Assists the Accounting Team Lead/Manager with external Sales & Use tax audits to minimize potential tax audit liabilities.
- This includes State and Local tax research projects and responding to any internal/external sales/use tax questions.
- Assists the Accounting Team Lead/Manager in maintaining and updating the Quarterly revenue recognition analysis and cleanup of client billing on the financial system.
- Assists in the processing/reconcilement of contractual and non-contractual obligated invoices and other invoices as needed.
- Assists, as needed, with maintaining employee expense reports policy and procedures.
- Assists, as needed, with coding invoices, expense reports, and other payable transactions with the proper cost center and general ledger account numbers.
Education Required:
Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance.
Experience Required:
A minimum of One year accounting experience with knowledge of Excel and Word is desirable.
