Description

Are you a detail-oriented and customer-focused individual seeking a part-time position in the financial industry? Look no further! We are currently hiring a Part-Time Teller to join our dedicated team at SCE Credit Union.

 

Schedule: This is a part-time position. The typical schedule will include weekdays and Saturdays, totaling 24 hours per week.

Applicants must be available to work during the following hours:

  • Monday 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM 
  • Wednesday 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM 
  • Thursday 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM 
  • Friday 8:50 AM - 5:20 PM 
  • Saturday 9:15 AM-1:15 PM 
  • Sunday - Closed

Bilingual skills required.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Process various financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and transfers, accurately and efficiently.

  • Provide exceptional member service by addressing members' inquiries and resolving any issues or concerns promptly.

  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in handling cash, checks, and other negotiable instruments.

  • Promote and cross-sell credit union products and services to meet members' financial needs.

  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment, including the teller area and the vault.

  • Adhere to all regulatory and security procedures to ensure the safety and confidentiality of member information.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Previous cash handling or teller experience preferred, but not required.

  • Strong attention to detail and mathematical skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Basic computer proficiency.

  • Familiarity with banking products and services is a plus.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous member service and cash handling experience required.
  • Experience in financial services and a fast-paced environment desired.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to members, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills desired.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, or oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to assess members needs and determine which financial services can best satisfy those needs.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Other Skills and Abilities

Must possess member service and sales skills. Must be accurate and detail-oriented.
