What are the responsibilities and job description for the Set-up Operator II-3rd shift Heat Treat position at Schaeffler Group?

Your Key Responsibilities
- Controls furnace to harden steel parts
- Determines temperature and time of heating cycle and type and temperature of baths and quenching medium to attain specified hardness: Utilizes knowledge of hardening methods, equipment, and properties of steel
- Loads and unloads parts from furnace:
- May perform maintenance on furnace:
- Graph SPC readings on surface hardening of parts: Randomly sample parts each day
- Controls equipment used to carburize, quench and temper steel parts to obtain the desired properties: batch & carburizing furnaces, salt bathes, washes
- Must be able to pass a Vision Color Test for color blindness and sight. (must be able to identify red, green, blue, orange an brown)
- shift 3rd 11pm to 7am, Sunday to Thursday
Your Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- External applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment visa or other sponsorship
- Experience running machines
- Mechanical experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Two plus years experience operating complex plant metalworking or related equipment
- Experience setting up machines or the equivalent formal technical education.
