Position Summary/Objective
The Kitchen Manager oversees all kitchen operations to ensure that all food is prepared in accordance with company standards. This position is responsible for order accuracy and appropriate portions in order to make sure that customers are satisfied at all times. The Kitchen Manager is also responsible for serving as a leader, supervising staff, managing inventory, and complying with all health and safety regulations.
Essential Functions
· Oversee daily kitchen operations
· Ensure the quality and safety of all food
· Keep the kitchen clean, sanitized, organized and well stocked
· Maintain equipment and utensils
· Create an excellent food experience for customers
· Monitor food waste and costs
· Manage inventory
· Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner
· Develop a strong team dynamic and open line of communication between back and front of the house
· Communicate with vendors regarding materials, deliveries, pick-ups, etc.
· Communicate and work effectively with all departments of the company
· Measure efficiency and current practices to develop and implement improvements
Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· Proven cooking experience, including experience as a Kitchen Manager
· Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
· Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
· Meet all physical demands of the position
· Ability to learn routine repetitive tasks quickly.
· Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
· Work quickly and efficiently
· Willingness to accept, implement, and grow from constructive feedback
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· Prolonged periods standing.
· Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
