Loudoun County Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse for the upcoming school year 2023-2024. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a crucial role in promoting the health and well-being of students and staff within the school community.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to students and staff, including assessment, treatment, and emergency care for illness or injury.
- Administer prescribed medications and maintain accurate medication records in accordance with school policies and procedures.
- Monitor and manage students with chronic health conditions, collaborating with parents, physicians, and other healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized health plans.
- Conduct health screenings, such as vision and hearing tests, and maintain health records for students.
- Promote health education and preventive care through the development and implementation of wellness programs and educational materials.
- Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and other staff members to create a safe and healthy school environment.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid, CPR, and other necessary interventions as required.
- Maintain confidentiality of student health information in accordance with HIPAA and other applicable regulations.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Virginia.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience in pediatric or school nursing is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of current healthcare practices, regulations, and protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
