IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
The CNC Programmer is responsible for programing equipment to perform production tasks, developing programs to control machining or processing of parts, determining production settings, selecting production equipment, and conducting test runs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assist and support A&B in building and implementing new processes and new part program launches.

Accurately quotes machined parts to customers in a timely fashion.

Assists in the analysis and justification for new and or additional equipment.

Ensures continued improvements and justifications to current machine practices and/or procedures

Complies with mandated ISO quality procedures.

Program and machine new fixturing using CAD and CAM software and CNC machines.

Design and build custom vise jaws and simple fixtures for part production.

Set up new CNC machines and pallet changers to be ready for production.

Process improvements on existing parts that include new fixturing, part programs, and custom tooling.

Maintain existing work holding that includes making new fixturing and vise jaws to repair any that are worn or damaged.

Work with vendors/suppliers to purchase consumable and custom tooling.

Assist quality, sales, maintenance, and scheduling personnel as needed.

Train and assist CNC operators.

Available to provide set up personnel with evening and weekend support.

Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
-
5 years of experience in CNC setup.
-
3-5 years of experience with MAZAK, HAAS, & FANUC controls.
-
Solid understanding of CADCAM/Mastercam.
-
Previous experience with SolidWorks.
-
Knowledge of tooling and tooling capabilities.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of database, design, Internet, inventory, manufacturing, spreadsheet, and word processing software.

Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, operation, and maintenance.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to meet strict deadlines set forth in the production schedule.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.
