POSITION SUMMARY:
The position is the SV Sports store manager within the Philadelphia Youth Basketball Alan Horowitz Sixth Man Center. This is a unique position that integrates a retail store, team custom uniform sales and community engagement. This is a store within a community basketball tournament facility!
The manager is responsible for SV Sports’ retail location within the PYB Alan Horowitz Sixth Man Center. The store will provide the community of students, athletes, coaches, fans and staff a championship experience. It will bring to life the most relevant basketball brands, exciting PYB product, and exclusive custom uniforms.
In addition to bringing a great store experience to life, you will be our direct interaction with tournament organizations, leagues and the local community. On any given weekend there may be brand activations and events outside the store that provide additional experiences for players and fans. There will also be a focus on exclusive custom uniform sales to those athletic entities within the Sixth Man Center.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute a strategy that generates revenue, exceeds sales targets, increases market penetration, and enhances brand visibility.
- Meets or exceeds planned sales and gross margin goals per operating budget guidelines.
- Responsible for the hiring, training, overall quality, and performance of the retail store staff.
- Develop relationships with PYB staff to provide students with retail, sales and marketing “internships” that will provide each with real world experience.
- Work with the marketing department to develop, coordinate, and communicate store promotions.
- Create business relationships with tournament directors and coaches to build a revenue model as they participate in events within the facility and community.
- Provide best in class service model to athletes, athletic directors, coaches, staff and contributors.
- Take a consumer first approach to help identify trends, shifts in behavior, and shopping patterns as they relate to the product assortment.
- Provide a continuous flow of information to merchandising, marketing and operations departments.
- Analyze causes of variances between actual vs. budget. Manages expenses and develops strategies that position the store to perform in accordance with the budget.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
- At 3 - 5 years of store or district management experience in a customer-facing sales setting. Preferably in a sporting goods or athletic specialty environment.
- A love of being immersed in an environment that is focused on sports everyday with all ages and skill levels.
- Ability to plan and organize effectively as you will be operating on several levels with unique objectives in a location that has remote supervision.
- Demonstrate leadership ability with sales associate team, extensive recruiting experience and a comfort level training and coaching employees to excel!
- Experience interacting with facility management. Developing relationships and providing solutions to the facilities management as they build their internal leagues, clubs and athletic organizations.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills. Comfortable socializing with coaches, tournament organizers, players, and parents. Position requires poise, tact, and diplomacy.
- Requires a proficient analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various administrative problems, and prioritize work.
- Must understand the company goals and be able to utilize all of your business, sales and leadership skills to place all of the moving parts into an independent organization.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
